Our Response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

The global coronavirus pandemic is unfortunately affecting all our families, businesses, communities and our way of life.

First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery.

As clients of Tara Property Group, your safety and well-being are our priority, along with that of our employees. For this reason, we are taking the following steps to minimise your and our employee’s risk of exposure to the virus:

    1. Ensuring that the Body Corporate Managers of our managed buildings (where applicable) have adequate procedures in place in relation to the regular cleaning and disinfecting of the common areas of the building.
    2. Immediate cancellation of any scheduled routine inspections and the postponement of any due routine inspections for the foreseeable future.
    3. Allowing Tara Property employees to work from home, where appropriate, to limit their risk and risk to others of exposure to the virus. Note – If you wish to attend the office for any reason please ensure that you arrange a day and time with our staff as the opening hours of the office may vary for the foreseeable future.
    4. Limiting the number of prospective tenants who can attend an individual open for inspection at your building.
    5. Request that any of our tenants or tradespeople who have been diagnosed with the virus or suspect they may have the virus to advise Tara Property immediately. In addition, they will need to self-isolate as per the Australian Government Department of Health guidelines in order to protect family and friends.

Practicing good hygiene will also minimise the exposure of the virus to you and others

Good hygiene includes:

    • covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
    • disposing of tissues properly
    • washing your hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating andafter going to the toilet
    • using alcohol-based hand sanitisers
    • cleaning and disinfecting surfaces
    • if you are sick, avoiding contact with others and staying more than 1.5 metres away frompeople
    • cleaning and sanitising frequently used objects such as mobiles, keys and walletsWhile we understand that current supermarket shortages are causing issues in the supply of some essential items, we request that our tenants do not flush any kitchen roll, wet wipes or newspaper down the toilet as these can cause major blockages in the sewers.We are also currently reviewing our standard tenancy agreement in terms of including a provision that deals with infectious diseases that requires both landlords and tenants to adhere to health and safety procedures.

This is a constantly changing situation and is one that Tara Property, along other real estate agencies, are dealing in unchartered waters with. We will endeavour to assist you and all our clients as much as possible during these challenging times.
